Andorra la Vella has just launched a new mountain route. It is the Bosc de l'Andy , a perfect way to encourage children to get in touch with nature and learn to respect it.
Already in 2020, the comuns of all the parishes had reached an agreement to launch the tamarros initiative, magical creatures from the forests of Andorra that motivated children to discover nature and learn to live with it in a respectful manner.
Pere Moles has been the brain behind the 7 characters that appeared in the forests of Andorra, giving rise to an activity that allows children and adults to enjoy the search for these beings.
The Tamarros were entrusted with the important task of protecting the forests and mountains of Andorra, but from whom? It turns out that the sworn enemy of these friendly creatures is an evil troll called Brutícia, who is dedicated to dirtying and damaging nature. That is why the work of the Tamarros is so important in a country made up of more than 90% nature and where they also need our help from time to time.
Now the parish of Andorra la Vella has wanted to take this initiative further by creating the route el bosc de l'Andy. In this new itinerary, a story has been created about how Andy the tamarro lives and what his work is in the forests of Andorra, fighting his arch enemy Bruticia every day and protecting the fauna and flora.
In fact, this new route has been complemented with a short story available at the Andorra la Vella tourist office. This way, children will be able to identify the elements of the route that correspond to different parts of the story, which will help them to immerse themselves even more in the story and internalise the values that this initiative aims to convey.
Some of the elements that children will be able to discover along this path are the hearing super enhancers, the bird houses, the portal of the forest roosters and Andy's little flowers, among others.
This is a route designed and conceived to encourage ecological responsibility among children in collaboration with the Department of the Environment, in order to ensure the least possible impact on local fauna and flora. Recycled materials have been used to ensure greater durability in the structure and preserve the aesthetics of the natural environment.
This route begins at the figure of Andy the tamarro, where a forest gate has been installed that marks the beginning of the 1.6 kilometre circular circuit with a 100 metre gradient. This makes it a fairly easy route that can be completed in approximately an hour and a half and that both children and adults will surely enjoy.
