Located in the heart of Sant Julià de Lòria, De Vell a Bell Restauració has established itself as a benchmark in the artisan restoration of antique furniture and valuable objects. Founded in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, this workshop has overcome the initial challenges to become a space specialising in the recovery of pieces with history, respecting their authenticity and ensuring their durability.
A craft with history and passion
The restorer Ingrid, founder of De Vell a Bell Restauració, trained in Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage in Barcelona, complementing her training with a degree in Sculpture and Wood Carving. After years of learning and experience, in 2018 she started a new stage in Sant Julià de Lòria whose purpose is to preserve the essence of antique furniture using traditional techniques combined with modern methods.
Her vocation was born during a family holiday when she observed the work of restorers in a church. Since then, she has dedicated more than 18 years to the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage, becoming a specialist in the recovery of unique pieces.
Restoring antique furniture: Reviving historical pieces to their former magnificence
Boots that hold memories, vintage chairs that have accompanied generations and ceramics that tell stories through their details. At De Vell a Bell Restauració, every antique object finds a second chance without losing its essence.
The workshop specialises in the handcrafted restoration of antique furniture and objects using materials such as wood, iron, metal and ceramics. From lattice rocking chairs to antique sewing machines and polychrome sculptures, each piece is treated individually according to its history and state of conservation.
Restoration techniques for each material
Restoration is not only about restoring the original appearance, but also about guaranteeing the stability and functionality of each piece of furniture. At De Vell a Bell Restauració we use specialised techniques such as:
Woodworm treatments and structural reinforcement on wood
Oxide cleaning and protection on iron and metals
Restoration and consolidation of fractured ceramics
Painting and finishing techniques for integration in contemporary spaces
Each intervention seeks a balance between conservation, functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that the restored pieces can continue to be part of everyday life without losing their historical value.
Committed to the preservation of the Cultural heritage of Andorra
As well as working with individuals, De Vell a Bell Restauració plays a fundamental role in the preservation of Andorra's cultural heritage. Ingrid has been involved in the restoration of historic pieces, including:
Furniture from the church of Sant Joan de Caselles.
Valuable elements from the church of Sant Cristòfol d'Anyós, located in La Massana.
Pictorial reproduction of ‘L'aparició del Mont Gàrgan’, altarpiece from the church of Sant Miquel de Prats.
Replica of the polychrome image of Nostra Senyora de Meritxell, located in the original sanctuary of Canillo.
These projects demonstrate how professional restoration contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage and ensures that future generations can appreciate the country's rich history.
A workshop to rescue the value of authenticity
In an era dominated by the disposable, De Vell a Bell Restauració defends restoration as an act of respect for history. Thanks to Ingrid's meticulousness and deep commitment to the authenticity of each piece, the workshop ensures that the restored furniture not only regains its splendour, but also continues to transmit its history and heritage over time.
