The Cabana Sorda lake a high-altitude paradise in the Incles Valley

Crystalline waters of the Cabana Sorda Lake in the Incles Valley

Entering the Incles's valley in the parish of Canillo, will always mean discovering unique landscapes. On the kilometer 1.5 of the narrow road that crosses the area is signposted the route's beginning that takes us to the Cabana Sorda's lake. Located at 2,290 meters high, it has a shelter a few meters away with a 20 people capacity.

The road's beginning has a steep slope that goes towards the Pinosa Forest. If the route is done on summer, you can enjoy the visual spectacle generated by the blue Iris with the valley on the background. The road narrows and closes until passing through the Fenefau's ravine and then climbs up to the Cabana Sorda's Assaladors, a point on which a good panoramic view is displayed. From there, the trail crosses an alpine meadow to find the Cabana Sorda's river, which will guide us for a final stretch of 10 minutes to find the lake.

The complete route has a distance of about 2.7 kilometers and a drop of 470 meters, so the difficulty of the route is moderate.

The climb can be completed in 1 hour and a half, approximately, and the walk back is 1 hour long. As for the route signs, they are three horizontal yellow circles. This route is ideal to know the valley's glacier circus and to try to find a groundhog or a clapped newt. On top of that, it is located near Lake Salamander, so you can add some difficulty by combining both paths. Finally, note that there is coverage throughout the tour.
